With love and sadness, the family of Patricia “Pat” Ann Ullom announce her passing on February 16, 2022, after a brief stay at Pine Haven Nursing Home in Pine Island, Minn. Patricia was born June 4, 1936, in Preston, Minn., to Emery and Ruth (Achatz) Caldwell. Her early education started at Our Lady of Lourdes School, in Lourdes, Iowa, and then at Marks Country School a mile from home in rural Fillmore County. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1956, and upon graduation, completed cosmetology training in Mankato, Minn. Patricia and Glenn Clayton Ullom married on January 19, 1967, at the Nativity Catholic Parsonage in Harmony. They had a collaborative and caring relationship based on mutual support and a deep love for each other that ended too soon with Glenn’s passing at age 50. Patricia’s creative spirit was evident in all of her accomplishments, whether it was rehabbing an old house, doing alterations at Charlotte’s Bridal, or cooking and baking favorite family recipes. She was a true “Bluff Country Girl” who shared her love of nature with trips to hunt for fossils or pick wildflowers and berries. There probably was never a cat or kitten that Pat didn’t love and many who were a part of the family. She was a loving wife, mother, friend.
Pat is survived by three children: Denese (Arthur) Ullom of Willits, Calif., Barbara Ullom of Rochester, Minn., and Clayton Ullom of Cresco, Iowa; grandchildren Zachary Ullom, Quenton Ullom, and Forest Ullom; and sisters-in-law Pat Koveleski, Marion Caldwell, and Judy Daly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, mother Ruth Daly, father Emery Caldwell, brothers Roy Caldwell and Charles Day; in-laws Gladys and Clayton Ullom, and sister-in-law Millie Schuh.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
