Patricia Ann Merzenich, age 88, of Caledonia, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2023, at Claddagh Senior Living and Memory Care, Caledonia. She was born March 25, 1935 in Caledonia to Alf and Margaret (Smith) Reierson. She graduated from Caledonia High School. Patricia married Matthew Merzenich on April 18, 1959. They were blessed with five children.
Patricia was a homemaker and also worked at Reierson Clothing Store, later known as Matt’s Clothing in Caledonia. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughters Julie Merzenich of Caledonia and Jackie (Doug) Colsch of La Crescent; son Jim (Janet) Merzenich of Baxter, Minn.; grandchildren Tyler, Meagan, Brett, Cody, Jack and Jessica; great-granddaughter,Tayla Jo, special friend Christi (Kelly) Masters, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Matthew, son Joseph, infant son Terry Allen, parents Alf and Margaret Reierson, sisters Alta Reierson, Marie Schmitz and Sonia Palen.
Private family services will be held. Per Patricia’s request, her body was bequested to the Department of Anatomy at Mayo Health System, Rochester, Minn.
