This Sunday, March 31, 2024, marks one year since Madeline Kingsbury went missing.
After a massive search of the farmland, ditches, and woods along Highway 44 between Mabel and Rushford, her body was discovered on June 7, 2023 – wrapped up in a grey fitted sheet, bound by Gorilla tape, and stuffed into a culvert.
On page three of this week’s newspaper, there’s a thank you to all of the volunteers who helped to search for Madeline.
So many of us never knew Madeline Kingsbury, but it was like she became everyone’s daughter, sister or friend. From the moment she disappeared, we were worried about her and feared the possible outcome.
I know we all feel for the Kingsbury family. And, I’m sure it will be a long road ahead for the family as the trial approaches. I can only imagine what they are going through.
