Omer LeRoy Hendrix, 80, of Rochester, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019, in Rochester, at Rochester Health Services East.
Omer was born October 28, 1938, in Rochester to Carl and Betty (Parks) Hendrix.
Omer owned and operated Omer’s Upholstery in Rochester for number of years. In 1979 he married Karen Ferguson. In their spare time they loved to fish, camp, go hunting and travel, but most of all be with their grandchildren.
Omer is remembered by his children: Jeff Hendrix of Zumbrota, Thomas Jeter of Rochester, Crystal Welsh of New Prague, and Lori Hendrix, Jackie Jeter, Debbie Jeter, Mike Jeter, all of Rochester; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; four brothers: Steve, Jim, Dale, Tom Hendrix, all of Rochester; six sisters: Martha Haag and Bonnie King of Dodge Center, Linda Oldenberg of Clearlake, Wis., Mary Deming of Elgin, and Kathy Fallon and Barb Hendrix, both of Plainview.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Betty, wife Karen, and two brothers, David and Bill Hendrix.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield, with visitation from 12:30-1:30 p.m., before services. Officiating will be Pastor Bob Blanshan from Plainview Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Sumer Presbyterian Cemetery, in rural Chatfield.
