The Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Chatfield will hold a public hearing on Monday, December 7th, 2020, during its regular meeting that will begin at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing is to take public comment regarding a proposal made by the Commission which would amend the City Zoning Code. The amendment would include clarification on what workman-like manner means as it pertains to fence regulations. See the suggested amendment below:
Sec. 113-923 – Fences, walls and similar structures.
(1) Requirements.
c. Workman-like manner is defined as:
• A fence must provide a minimum 36” (three-foot) hole/footing depth for the posts.
• Wood posts must be ground-rated (chemically treated, cedar, or other naturally durable wood) and resistant to decay.
• Any wooden boards used must be weather-resistant (chemically treated, cedar, or other naturally durable wood, resistant to decay), or painted.
