Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 116, that Dale Hinckley (Hinckley Holsteins LLC), has made application to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for a permit to construct or expand a feedlot with a capacity of 500 animal units or more.
The existing and/or proposed feedlot will be located in the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of section 25, T-105-N, R-11-W, Elmira Township, Olmsted County, Minnesota.
The existing facility consists of 395 milking cows housed in a freestall barn with a 48’x32’x8’ outside manure pit, 15 dry cows housed in a bedded pack pole barn, and 90 calves housed in a monoslope bedded pack pole barn and 20 calf huts. The existing facility is a total of 592 animal units.
The proposed facility will consist of 500 milking cows housed in the existing freestall barn with manure pit, 25 dry cows and 75 milking cows housed in a proposed freestall barn utilizing existing manure pit, 15 dry cows housed in an existing bedded pack pole barn, and 110 calves housed in a monoslope bedded pack pole barn and 20 calf huts. The animal unit capacity of the new facility will be 883 animal units.
This publication shall constitute as notice to each resident and each owner of real property within 5,000 feet of the perimeter of the proposed feedlot as required by Minnesota State Law.
