Norma C. Horsman, 92, of Chatfield, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2020, at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield.
Norma Carrie Day was born on October 10, 1927, in Spring Valley to Dewey and Bernice (Johnson) Day. She graduated from Spring Valley High School, and went on to get her hairdressing degree. On June 14, 1944, she married Hartley M. Horsman in Spring Valley. They lived in Babbitt, Minn., from 1957 to 1970, then moved to the Chatfield area. After Hartley’s passing, Norma lived in Rochester and Preston at Traditions for two years. Norma loved playing cards, dancing, playing piano and fishing, but, most of all, spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Hartley in 2006.
Survivors include four sons: Dewey D. (Maryann), Danny D. (Carol), Gregory W. (Debra), and Rick M. (Karen); two daughters, Wendy S. Horsman and Cynthia L. (Robert) Lawstuen; 21 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and sister June Meyers.
A private family committal service will take place at Washington Cemetery, rural Spring Valley. The family is planning a celebration of life at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice of Rochester.
