Nancy Ann Dieter, 58, passed away peacefully in her home in Harmony, Minn., on the morning of May 12, 2021. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Nancy was born July 3, 1962, to Raphael “Ray” and Gladys (Frana) Ferrie. She graduated from Crestwood High School in 1980. Nancy was married to John Dieter for 29 years and together they had two children, Michael and Bethany. Nancy soon discovered her passion for business management in Oklahoma, briefly managing a couple businesses before moving back to the Cresco area where she then managed the Kum & Go gas station. From there she was offered a store leader position at the first Kwik Star in the Cresco area where she worked for over 10 years. After Kwik Star she became store leader at Goodwill Industries in Decorah, Iowa, a job she absolutely loved, for 14 years until she was no longer able to work.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with family and friends any chance she had, especially enjoying her grandsons, whom she adored wholeheartedly. She loved to go to garage sales, fishing, kayaking, dancing, and playing cards, and was always very lucky at slot machines. She was an avid collector of many things such as cookie jars, paperweights, and Fenton glass baskets. Many would say she acquired the love for collecting from her mother. She touched so many people’s hearts and will be deeply missed by all of the people she loved so very much.
Nancy is survived by her mother Gladys Ferrie, brothers Dean (Ann), Kenneth (Carol), Kevin, Russell (Cindy), and Roger (Kari) Ferrie; children Michael (Jerralyn) and Bethany Dieter, and grandchildren Dodge and Asher Dieter.
She was preceded in death by her sister Amy, sister-in-law Deborah Ferrie, and father Raphael Ferrie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 3, 2021, at 3650 Fog Rd., Cresco, Iowa 52136.
Cards and condolences can be mailed to 530 Main Ave N Harmony, Minn. 55939.
