Monique Morel Buchanan passed away suddenly on Monday, December 8, 2025, in San Antonio, Tex., where she’d made her winter home since 2002.
Born in Kœur-la-Petite, France on February 8, 1942, she moved to the U.S. in 1968 and married Bruce Buchanan, who preceded her in death (2017).
Monique is survived by her children Isabelle (Anthony) Marentic, Gil Mouillot, and Christopher (Kathleen) Buchanan; and grandchildren Sean Eaton, Martin Marentic, Margaux Mouillot, Miles Buchanan, Cecielia Buchanan, and Mauro Mouillot.
A celebration of life will be held at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minn., on January 13, starting with an 11 a.m. visitation, 12 p.m. service, and 1 p.m. lunch.
