The regular meeting of the Rushford-Peterson School District #239 school board was called to order by Chairperson, Chris Grindland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024 in the Rushford-Peterson Schools Forum Room.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Members Present: Chris Grindland, Ken Sawle, Carl Schollmeier, Nancy Snyder and Amy Woxland
Members absent: Matt Helgemoe and Jeff Michel
Administration Present: Superintendent Ben Bernard
District Personnel: Laura Hahn
Motion by Michel, seconded by Sawle to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
There were no public comments.
Motion by Schollmeier, seconded by Sawle to approve the following consent agenda items: June 17, 2024 Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes; Donations in the amount of $4,517, June hand payables, wires & payroll liabilities in the amount of $371,463.59, June payroll in the amount of $404,300.82, July board bills in the amount of $678,453.10 and Personnel: Jodi Peters – Leave of Absence, August 19 – November 1, 2024 (tentative dates). With a roll call vote of 5:0, motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Sawle, seconded by Schollmeier to approve the resolution approving the Annual 10-year updated Long-Term Facilities Maintenance Plan. With a roll call vote of 5:0, motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Woxland, seconded by Schollmeier to authorize Superintendent Bernard to secure proposals for snow removal. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Woxland, seconded by Snyder to approve the Resolution Relating to the Election of School Board Members and Calling the School District General Election. With a roll call vote of 5:0, motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Woxland, seconded by Snyder to approve hiring of Smith Schafer to complete the audit of the 2023-2024 school year. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Schollmeier, seconded by Sawle to approve the Bus Transportation contract with Bernard Bus Service for the 2024-2026 school years. Motion carried unanimously.
Superintendent Bernard presented the Superintendent’s report.
The Hiawatha Valley Education District Report was reviewed.
