INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT #239
The regular meeting of the Rushford-Peterson School District #239 was called to order by Chairperson Chris Grindland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021.
Members Present: Chris Grindland, Matt Helgemoe, Joyce Iverson, Jeff Michel, Bonnie Prinsen, Ken Sawle, and Amy Woxland.
Administration Present: Superintendent Jon Thompson
District Office Personnel: Laura Hahn
Motion by Michel, seconded by Helgemoe to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
There were no public comments.
Motion by Iverson, seconded by Michel to approve the following consent agenda items: June 28, 2021 Special Meeting Minutes, June 21, 2021 Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes, Donation from the Peterson American Legion in the amount of $2,000 to the Drama Club for the Fall play, June hand payables, wires & payroll liabilities in the amount of $367,492.03, June payroll in the amount of $392,320.83, July board bills in the amount of $680,622.68, Fund Summary Reports; PERSONNEL: Resignation of Holly Ekern – Assistant Softball Coach, Hire of Holly Ekern – Head Softball Coach and Hire of Jenny Thompson – Long-term Sub – 4th Grade. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Prinsen, seconded by Sawle to approve the Athletic Training Outreach Service Contract with Winona Health Services effective August 1, 2021 – July 31, 2023. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Prinsen, second by Woxland to approve and adopt the resolution approving the Annual 10-year updated Long-Term Facilities Maintenance Plan. With a roll call vote of 7:0, motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Iverson, second by Michel to approve the following meal prices for the 2021-2022 school year: (Breakfast costs: K-5th grade: $1.55; 6-12th grade: $1.60; Adult: $2.55; Lunch costs: K-5th grade: $2.35; 6-12th grade: $2.45; Adult: $3.95; Extra milk: $0.45. Motion carried unanimously.
The board reviewed the bids that were submitted for gas, bread and milk for the 2021-2022 school year.
Motion by Michel, seconded by Helgemoe to accept the bids and select the following vendors for the 2021-2022 school year: Gas: Pam’s Corner; Bread: Pan-o-Gold; Milk: Kemps. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Prinsen, second by Iverson to approve the Resolution to renew membership with the MSHSL for the 2021-2022 school year. With a roll call vote of 7:0, motion carries.
Motion by Michel, second by Woxland to approve the 2021-2022 Agreement with Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED). Motion carried unanimously.
The Community Education Report and the Activities Report were reviewed.
