Heaven gained a beautiful angel when Mildred “Millie” Maloney passed away from complications of COVID-19 at age 99, on January 10, 2022. Millie was born on December 19, 1922, to Elmer and Erna (Tabor) Pretsch in Ostrander, Minn. She graduated from Spring Valley (SV) High School in 1940. She is also survived by her sisters Erna (Elton Tart), Alice (Lloyd Hofner), and Norma (Wallace Tate); nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Millie was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Pretsch, and her beloved husband Fay.
Millie was a longtime member of Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley, Minn. She will be forever missed by the many who loved her.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate her life.

Sue Bly says
Millie was my Mom’s friend first. (Rachel Bly). She was my friend because she always gave me flowers to plant in my yard when I was very young. Millie also baked the best cookies and shared the recipes. She was a wonderful kind person. She will be missed.
