Maxine W. Boehmke

Fillmore County Journal, Maxine Boehmke obituary

Maxine W. Boehmke, 85, of Rushford, Minn., died on Monday, March 16, 2020, at Winona Health in Winona, Minn.

Maxine was born on May 22, 1934, in Peterson, Minn., to Clifford and Minerva (Flattum) Thompson. She was raised in Peterson and attended Peterson High School. Maxine was united in marriage with Robert Boehmke on February 16, 1952, at Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson. Robert and Maxine farmed for many years. Maxine also worked as a restaurant cook and a home health aide for many years. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Rushford where she was active in bible study and worked as the church custodian. Maxine loved playing bingo, gardening, making lefse, and doing embroidery. 

She is survived by five children: Debra Manion of Big Lake, Minn., Gloria (Rich) Urbick of Minnesota City, Minn., Lynne (Allen) Eide of Zimmerman, Minn., Cindy (Tom) McManimon of Chatfield, Minn., and Scott Boehmke of Rushford; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Ordell (Carolyn), Lyle (Karen), and Stanley Thompson, all of Peterson; and two sisters: Gert Feine of Rushford and Charlene Knutson of Lanesboro. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Erlin, grandson Tanner, granddaughter Kari, son-in-law Gerald Manion, two brothers-in-law, Ardel Feine and Larry Knutson; two sisters-in-law, Marcella Boehmke and Shirley Bublitz; and by a niece, Kristi Thompson. 

Due to the current corona-virus pandemic, private family services have been scheduled. Burial will be in the Brand Cemetery in Hart, Minn.
