MaryAnn Theresa Jack passed away peacefully with her family around her on May 23, 2023, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
MaryAnn was born October 7, 1927, in Rochester, Minn., to George and Ida (Schleusner) Caflisch. She was raised in Simpson Township, attending school there through eighth grade. She graduated from Stewartville High School in 1946.
MaryAnn married Eugene (Gene) Jack on June 20, 1949. Shortly after marrying they moved to rural Chatfield, Minn., where they built their life together having five children, farming and later in life enjoying many adventures together. She assisted Gene in the farm work including taking care of the animals, gardening, and lawn mowing. She enjoyed the gardening the most as she planted large vegetable, fruit, and floral gardens; she was blessed with a “green thumb.” She could do anything she put her mind to and enjoyed cake decorating and continues to be remembered for her scrapbooking and many ceramic pieces she hand painted.
MaryAnn had a very strong faith and was a welcomed member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church altar Society, where she was excited to participate in the many Sharing of the Seasons table settings. She also enjoyed collecting chicken figurines, angels, and rosaries.
MaryAnn was kind, with a quick wit. She leaves a beautiful legacy in her family and friends, the hearts she touched and the kindness she shared. She was a proud mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
MaryAnn is survived by her children: son David Jack and daughter Patricia Jack; grandchildren Bryan (Jennifer), Adam, Jared, Karen (Jeff) and Whitney; great-grandchildren Riley, Aiden, Logan, Emersen, Dylan, and Gavin; great-great-grandchild Greyson, brothers George (Shorty) and Robert (Bob) Caflisch, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins.
MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene (2011), infant children Dennis, Linda, and Karen; sister Rita and brothers Paul and Charles, as well as many other loved family and friends.
The family would like to send a sincere thanks to all those that assisted in MaryAnn’s care at the end of life, including Seasons Hospice.
