Mary Rediske, 71, of Hokah, Minn., died on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Mayo Clinic – Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn., after a hard-fought three-year battle with cancer.

Mary Beth Wojahn was born on December 10, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Elmo and Avis (Gaustad) Wojahn.  The family lived in Orchard Gardens until 1961, when Elmo retired from the Navy and moved his family to Houston, Minn., where they purchased Grandpa Gaustad’s farm on Twin Ridge.  Mary graduated from Houston High School in 1969 and then attended Winona Vo-Tech.  On August 15, 1970, Mary married Michael Rediske at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston.  During the early years of their marriage Mary worked at Dahl Ford in La Crosse, Wis., and later at Winona State College and First National Bank in La Crosse.  Mary and Mike raised four children on their farm on German Ridge near Brownsville, where Mike still farms.

Mary is survived by her husband of 52 years, Michael; four children: Brenda (Daryl) Wood and daughter Amber, Jason (Teri) and daughters Madison and Elise, Kevin and daughters Chloe, Hailey, Jaiden, Samantha, Skyler and Tiffaney, and Becci (Danny Lyons) and sons Matthew, Bo and Cody; one sister and four brothers: Gary, Jean, Steven, Allan and Roger Wojahn; brother-in-law Myron (Joyce) Rediske, sister-in-law Brenda Rediske, and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, mother- and father-in-law Helen and Hugh Rediske, and brother-in-law Vernon Rediske.

The family prefers memorials directed to the Community Church of Hokah, House of Compassion or to the donor’s choice.

There will be a memorial service for Mary at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Community Church of Hokah. Visitation  will be at the church  from 4-7 p.m. on Friday and 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

Hoff Funeral Home in Houston, Minn., is assisting the family with the arrangements.
