Mary J Hershberger

July 20, 2023 by Fillmore County Journal

Mary J. Hershberger obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Mary J Hershberger, age 72, of Harmony, Minn., passed away at home on July 19, 2023, following multiple illnesses.

She was born September 23, 1950, to the late Joe N and Katie J (Zook) Stutzman.

In November 1971 she married Emery J Hershberger, who preceded her in death.

Mary was a part of the Root River Community Church where she volunteered in children’s ministry and the kitchen and she was also part of the prayer team. She was a dedicated follower of Christ and made it her life mission to love like Jesus, not by words only but by action. Nothing made her happier than talking about and worshipping the Lord along with lots of prayer and discussing the word of God.

She is survived by 13 siblings, – seven sisters and six brothers and her 10 children: Mosie (Amanda) Hershberger, Emery (Mattie) Hershberger, (Andy) Katie Miller, (Emery) Anna Gingerich, (Lester) Cevilla Yoder, Levi (Tara) Hershberger, Dan (Susie) Hershberger, (Dan) Susan Schlabach, Enos (Katherine) Hershberger and John (Hollie) Hershberger; 47 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Along with her husband she was preceded in death by three of her sons: Joseph, Jacob and Reuben; her parents Joe N Stutzman and Katie J Stutzman, and two brothers, John and Joseph.

The family would like to express our deepest appreciation to Moments Hospice for all their love and care

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the Root River Community Church in Harmony. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. and again one hour prior to services on Saturday morning. Lindstrom Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
