Marvin Hovden was born on April 5, 1931, to Carmen and Myrtle Hovden. His father died when Marv was just 12 years old; he quit school to help his mother with the farming. He was still unloading corn this last fall. That’s 81 years of farming!
Marv married Donna Casey on September 23, 1952. Together they had six children. Marv’s great passion besides farming was tractor pulling. He and Donna traveled to many pulls over the years. In 1978, he was invited to the National Tractor Pull in Louisville, Ky. This was a huge pull and huge privilege to be invited to compete. Marvin won that pull.
