On November 22, 2020, the Heavens received a smiling, jovial angel. After his 65-year career driving semi, his journey is complete.

At the young age of 15 he worked for the railroad, a passion he carried with his collection of trains. Marvin enlisted in the United States Air Force and served from 1950 to 1954, and served as a mail carrier for the Pentagon. In 1953, Marvin was united in marriage to Georgia F. Hall in Washington, D.C. and they later divorced. In 1980, Marvin married Janet Thobe, who passed away in May of 2018.
Marvin is survived by his children Paula (Roger) Grabau-Friedt of Rochester, Minn., Frank (Teresa) House of Spring Valley, Minn., Vanessa (Jay) Bailey of McLoud, Okla., Nancy (Mike) Hanson of Racine, Minn., Mike House of McLoud, Okla., Joan (Ronny) VanRiper of Dysart, Iowa, and Jean (Dale) Ackland of Austin, Minn.; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 2 ½ great-great-grandchildren; Janet House’s children and grandchildren, his first wife Georgia, sister-in-law Wanda House, son-in-law Jerry Wendt, and his close friend Alice Schienbein.
He was preceded in death by his parents, second wife Janet House, son John F.K. House, daughter Valerie L. Wendt, son-in-law Mark Ekstrom, siblings Ruth (Don) Bacon, Leo (Ruby) House, Lyle (Marge, Vera) House, Dorothy (Don) Boyum, Helen (Len) Leutink, and Lloyd House.
Because of COVID, there will only be a private family service at this time. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, any cards and memorials may be sent in care of Paula Grabau-Friedt.
