Marlys Mae Schultz, age 59, died on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at her home in Kasson, Minn.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 12 p.m., at Christ Lutheran Church, in Preston, Minn. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, at Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Marlys was born on April 12, 1963, to Richard and Maxine (Prouty) Schultz in Lanesboro, Minn. She graduated high school in Harmony in 1981. Marlys worked various jobs including Harmony High School as a custodian, babysitting, housekeeper at Midway Motor Lodge, Kirby Vacuums, K-Mart, Rush Products, Harmony House, Northern Engraving, both Chevron and Montgomery Wards in California, Deco Products, RCTC, Elcor Realty, Mayo Clinic, Shopko, Methodist Hospital, Caseys, Travel Lodge, R&S Transport, Prairie Meadows, Lupient GMC Buick, and Semcac.
Friends and family were very dear to Marlys. She knew everyone’s birthday and anniversary, and made sure to always send a card. She had many notebooks that she loved to keep logs of everything. Marlys loved the outdoors, traveling with family, watching Packers-Vikings games, fishing, camping, gardening, and riding 4-wheelers. She also liked doing crafts and keeping up with the local coffee club. Marlys’ dog, Lucy, held a very special place in her heart. She loved Lucy dearly.
Marlys is survived by her son Kyle (Lauren) Schultz of Stewartville, Minn., grandchildren Makenzie and Kaleb Schultz of Stewartville, Minn., siblings Earl (Susan) Schultz of Pine Island, Minn., Larry (LaDonna) Schultz of Stewartville, Minn., and Randy (Anne) Schultz of Mabel, Minn.; step-nieces Jennifer Dahley and Lynn Schweitzer, step-nephew JJ Dahley, and her special support dog Lucy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-nephew Timothy Dahley, and her special friend Daniel Klomps.
