Mark Lillegraven obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Mark J. Lillegraven, 71, of Mabel, died Thursday, February 26, 2026, at his home following a four-year battle with cancer.

Mark was born September 22, 1954 in Decorah, Iowa, to Wendell and Marian (Turner) Lillegraven. He graduated from the Mabel-Canton High School with the class of 1972.  He worked at Oliver Tractors in Charles City, Iowa before purchasing a milk hauling route from Donnie and Dale Garness. After 36 years, he sold his business and semi-retired in 2010. He enjoyed fishing, visiting with friends, doing occasional truck driving and driving around with our dog Molly.

Mark is survived by his wife of 50 years, Loretta (Redwing); two sons, Matthew (Sarah) of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Patrick of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; a sister, Mary Hegg; sister-in-law Janice Matthews, brothers-in-law Dennis, Gerald, and Gary Redwing; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David; father- and mother-in-law Grant and Evelyn Redwing, brother -in-law Darwin, and sister-in-law Lynette.

There will be a private family service at a later date. The Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is assisting with arrangements.
