Marilyn E. Osmonson

December 4, 2023 by Fillmore County Journal

Marilyn Osmonson obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Marilyn E. Osmonson, 80, of Rushford, died Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Valley View Healthcare and Rehab in Houston.

She was born September 30, 1943, in Lanesboro, Minn., to Arthur and Alpha (Hungerholt) Thompson. She graduated from Peterson High School in 1960. In 1961 she married Lester Bellock and they had five children; they later divorced. Throughout the years, she worked various jobs in the area. She married Errol Osmonson in 1990 and later divorced.

Marilyn enjoyed working outside on the farm, gardening, cooking, cleaning and her early morning walks. She loved spending time with her church family and friends. Her most favorite time of all was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved babysitting the grandkids, taking them for rides in the car to go shopping, get ice cream or just a ride. She was always there to lend a hand when needed. Marilyn will be most remembered by her infectious giggle.

She is survived by three children: Johnie (Jerri) Bellock, Jeff (Mary Kaye) Bellock and Janel (Tim) Bohanon, all of Rushford; grandchildren Melisa (Jed) Kinneberg, Brittany (Tyler) Benson, Jake Bellock, Dalton Bellock, Shayna (Blake) Erickson, Devin Holter, Luke (Emily) Highum, Elijah Highum and Ava Bohanon; six great-grandchildren, brother Dale (Geraldine) Thompson, sister Ione Paulson, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jerry Bellock; daughter Julie Bellock, brother Harley Thompson, sister-in-law Edith Thompson, and brother-in-law Berton Paulson.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, December 11, 2023, at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service – Rushford, led by Reverend Lora Sturm. Visitation will be 10 a.m., until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest at Hongerholt Cemetery in rural Peterson.
