Marian Corpstein obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Marian M. Corpstein, 87, of Caledonia, died surrounded by her family on Friday, October 25, 2024, at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, Minn.

She was born August 31, 1937, in Caledonia to Arnold and Celesta (Rottman) Gillen. She graduated from Caledonia High School in 1956. Marian married Norman Corpstein on August 10, 1957,  at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Caledonia. She was an homemaker and caretaker for Norman until his death in 2011. Marian was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Caledonia.

She is survived by three sons: Joseph (Andrea) Corpstein and their children Aaron, Benjamin and Miriam of Arden Hills, Minn., Mark (June) Corpstein and their children Jennifer and Adam of Spring Grove; and Jim Corpstein and his children Sara (Ty) Haupt and David of Spring Grove; a brother, Howard (Kathy) Gillen of La Crosse; and two sisters, Joyce Schmidt of Eitzen, Minn., and Jenette Gillund of Mission, Tex.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman, sister Janice Gillen, and brothers John and David Gillen.

A  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 7, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Andrew Vogel and Deacon Bob Yerhot will officiate and burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia, is assisting the family.
