Marcy Marin

March 25, 2025 by Fillmore County Journal

Marcy Marin obituary, Fillmore County Journal

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marcy Marin, who passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born in Winona County on January 7, 1934. to Hubert and Emma Volkman, she was first out of 16 children. Marcy married the love of her life, Stanley Marin on June 14, 1952. From this love came three outstanding sons and one strong daughter. Together they spent their life not just building their farm but a legacy of hard work, determination, faith, and love. Marcy lived a life knowing struggle when the weight of the world was too heavy to carry. However, she refused to let hardship define her. Instead she worked tirelessly to turn pain into purpose and was always there when needed. Marcy was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hart. She worked as a dietary aide at Good Shepherd Lutheran Services for numerous years. Her greatest achievement was working on the farm alongside her husband and children.

Marcy is survived by her husband Stanley, son Glen, her daughter Cindy (David Howe), and daughters-in-law Patty Marin (Jerry) and Kelly Marin (Doug), her sisters-in-law Jean Volkman and Doris Overing, along with many remarkable nieces and nephews. And she is survived by her 10 grandchildren, who will always remember her as the woman who made them feel like they could do anything. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 15 siblings, and her sons Doug and Jerry, who happily greeted her at Heaven’s gates. Her light will never fade, living on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.

A visitation for Marcy will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford, Minn., from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn., on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11 a.m., with a visitation one hour prior to service. Hoff Funeral Home Rushford is assisting the family with arrangements. Please visit www.hofffuneral.com to leave an online condolence.
