Section 00 1113 – Advertisement for Bids
1.01 INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION
A. From: Kraus-Anderson Construction Company acting on behalf of Mabel-Canton Public Schools (Owner).
B. Project: Mabel-Canton School 2021 Facility Upgrades
C. Key Dates:
1. Contractors will be allowed to visit the site on April 1, 2021 between the hours of 8:00am – 12:00pm (noon).

2. Cut off Date for Questions: Monday April 5, 2021.
3. Bid Due Date: Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 10:00am
a. Bid day delivery address and Mailing of bids information is located under section F.
D. Method of Delivery: Kraus-Anderson Construction Company has been selected as an Agency Construction Manager by the Mabel-Canton School District to administer and manage the above referenced project.
1. This bid package consists of Envelope Improvements, Bathroom Renovations, gym floor and bleacher replacement and Science lab upgrades.
2. The work will be constructed in accordance with the Project Schedule and Construction Documents.
E. Work Included in this Offering: We are presently soliciting competitive “Prime Contract Bids” for the following portions of work as defined herein.
1. All portions of the Work as defined in Section 01 12 10.
F. Bid Date and Location: Electronic Bids will be received at KA Bid Express
Webpage: https://www.bidexpress.com/businesses/39702/home, free of charge to
Contractors. Bids will be received until 10:00am, on Thursday, April 8, 2021.

G. Bid Security: Each bid shall be accompanied by Bid Security equal to five percent
(5%) of amount of maximum bid submitted (including additive alternates) in the
form of a certified check, cashier’s check, or paper bid bond. Bid security shall be
made payable to Owner, as guarantee that Bidder will, if awarded, enter into
Contract in accordance with Contract Documents and submitted Bid. This bid
security will be uploaded to Bid Express’s website. See section 004100 Online
Bidding Instructions – Bid Express for further instructions.
1.02 QUESTIONS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO
A. Questions shall be submitted to Kraus-Anderson Construction Company at the
address below on or before the Date indicated above.

1.03 AVAILABILITY OF BIDDING DOCUMENTS
A. Location for Review and Examination: Bidding Documents (Project Manual, Drawings, and other Contract Documents) are available at the locations indicated below for review and examination:

B. Procurement of Documents for Bidders on Prime Contracts:
Prime Bidders may obtain electronic Bidding Documents at no charge from Isqft as well as obtain access to the bid form at no charge from Bid Express.

C. Examination of Documents: Bidder shall carefully examine entire content of Bidding Documents to become thoroughly familiar with the documents and project requirements. Refer to Instructions to Bidders for additional requirements.
D. Examination of the Site: All contractors are encouraged to visit the site prior to bidding. Execution will involve installation to, modifications of, demo of an existing building. The Owner will allow contractors to walk the site on April 1, 2021 between the hours of 8:00am and Noon. All contractors must notify Ike McWaters if they intend to visit the site prior to April 1.
1.04 OTHER CONDITIONS
A. Time of Completion: Refer to Section 01 32 10 – Bids shall reflect all costs necessary to meet this schedule requirement.
B. Owner’s Right to Reject Bids: Owner reserves the right to reject a Bid which is in any way incomplete or irregular or to waive informalities or irregularities in a Bid received, and accept a Bid, which in the Owner’s judgment is in the Owner’s best interests.
C. Performance and Payment Bonds: All Bids shall include all costs associated with performance and payment bonds for 100% of the bid amount.
D. Additional Compensation: Contractors shall not receive extra payments for conditions which can be determined by examining the site and the Contract Documents.
