Lorren E. Tingesdal, Jr., 64, of Mabel, Minn., passed away on February 24 surrounded by his family at St Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn., from complications due to a 3 1/2 year battle with mesothelioma.
Lorren was born in Spring Grove, Minn., on November 7, 1953, to Lorren and Maxine (Olson) Tingesdal. He was confirmed at the Mabel First Lutheran Church and was a 1971 graduate of Mabel-Canton High School. On July 13, 1974, he was united in marriage to Deborah Sagdalen. He has been an employee of the Mabel Co-Op Telephone Company since 1974, working his way to his position as General Manager. He was a member of the Mabel Fire Department; many good times were spent with his fire department family. In his early days he enjoyed softball, horseshoe, bowling and playing cards, later his passion was fishing. His greatest joy was his children and the times he spent spoiling his grandchildren.
Lorren is survived by his wife Debbie, son Chris (Lacie) Tingesdal, of Stewartville, Minn., daughter Jill (Chad) Phillips of Lanesboro, Minn.; his grandchildren Jordon, Corbin, and Juliet Tingesdal and Harper Phillips; two sisters, Linda Stennes and Marcia (Harold) Haagenson, both of Rochester, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Roderick, and niece Taylor Macken. Lorren will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his dedication to his job, and for being a friend you could count on.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at the Mabel First Lutheran Church in Mabel, with the Rev. Sharon Goetzinger officiating. Inurnment will be in the Mabel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 4–7 p.m. Thursday, March 1 at the Mabel First Lutheran Church. The Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is assisting with arrangements.
