Fillmore County Journal, Linden Johnson obituary

Linden S. Johnson, 61, of Rushford, Minn., died on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at his home.

Linden was born on October 10, 1958, in Preston, Minn., to Wesley D. and Elsa D. (Youngs) Johnson. He was a 1977 graduate of Rushford High School. Linden went to vocational school in Winona, Minn., for welding. On March 11, 1978, he married Heidi Rislove. Through his career, Linden worked at Norstad’s Lumber Company and Bakken Construction in Rushford, Crenlo in Rochester, Minn., and Badger Equipment in Winona as a manufacturing engineer.

Linden was a selfless family man, an outdoorsman, and a football fanatic. He loved fishing in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. He enjoyed deer hunting, and searching for morel mushrooms. He was also a lover of all kinds of animals. Linden was a member of Rushford Lutheran Church.

Linden is survived by his wife Heidi, three children: Erica (Tyler) Eide of Rushford, Nicole (Matt) Erickson of Harmony, and Adam (Jenna) Johnson of Rushford; 12 grandchildren: Alyvia, Lakyn, Cashtyn, Cayne, Hunter, Hayden, Hope, Jaelyn, Kiara, Madilon, Ellia and Weslin; two siblings: Wayne (Sharon) Johnson of Rushford and Sharon Dee Johnson of Dover, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and Joey Laumb. A quote that Linden lived by was, “One day at a time.”

There will be a funeral service for Linden at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Rushford Lutheran Church, with the Reverend Steven Chellew officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford, and one hour before the funeral service at the church on Wednesday.
