Linda Olstad obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Linda Marie Olstad, aged 80, of Burnsville, Minnesota, passed away on October 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of family, both near and far.

Linda was born on December 8, 1945, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Paul Holmes and Elva (Hyen) Holmes.

She is survived by her loving husband Neil J. Olstad Jr., children Kimberly Olstad Piegaro (Christopher Piegaro) and Christina Olstad (Kirsten Fricke); grandchildren Stella Piegaro, Robert Olstad and Anders Olstad; sister Ramona Holmes, brother John Holmes, sister-in-law Kristin Dennison, sister-in-law Martha Olstad, brother-in-law Paul Olstad (Kim), brother-in-law Randy Johnson, and by other loving relatives and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Vincent Holmes, sister Pauline Tiemann, brother-in-law Al Weber, brother-in-law Bruce Dennison, and sister-in-law, Jane Johnson.

Linda loved traveling to Hawaii and across the country with her husband, often surprising friends and family members with a visit and treating them to a special dinner. She cherished bringing loved ones together and making memories along the way. Linda had a lifelong love of reading and accumulated an extensive collection of books over the years. She also enjoyed watching movies and was a devoted fan of Elvis Presley and Blake Shelton.

Above all, Linda treasured her family. She was a proud sports and dance mom who took great joy in being involved in her children’s lives and supporting them in all they did. As her family grew, Linda especially cherished her role as “Grammy” to her grandchildren. Being their Grammy brought her great joy, and the time she shared with them was deeply important to her. Her family was always at the center of her life, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life is being planned for spring 2027 in Preston, Minnesota. Condolences: www.whitefuneralhomes.com.
