To the Editor,
David and I purchased our home in the old Lanesboro school house 20 years ago. It was an empty shell but there was energy and vision. I love my corner of the old school house but I do not stay for my precious corner. I stay because this community cares for one another.
Vote. We must vote on specifics not name recognition or past contributions. I value all the candidates who have stepped forward to serve. Thank you. We need a strong congress to represent the best interests of our district, protect our constitution and approve taxes which are both fair and adequate to care for our neighbors and support our local businesses. Make sure the candidates we support actually show up in Washington and vote in line with our community’s values. We need a strong Minnesota legislature and county board to ensure our resources are available to fund our schools, support our park and trail infrastructure, sustain clean water, and bolster our agricultural and rural economy. Minnesota is a special place to live but will not retain its quality of life unless we champion the leaders committed to our values. We value our neighbors, our community and our future. Let’s make sure we elect leaders with our kind of energy and vision.
