Leona “Beezie” Cambern

November 6, 2023 by Fillmore County Journal

Leona "Beezie" Cambern obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Leona “Beezie” Cambern, 79, of Fountain, died on Friday, November 3, 2023, surrounded by her family at Season’s Hospice House in Rochester. Beezie was born on June 30, 1944, in Austin, Minn., and graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, Minn. On October 23, 1965, she married the love of her life, Willis “Willie” Cambern. They shared 48 years together until Willie’s death in 2014.

Willie and Beezie were true partners in life and enjoyed owning and operating Willie’s Grocery & Locker in Fountain for over 40 years. A favorite pastime was dancing and their love of polka music could regularly be heard in the background of their grocery store.  Beezie’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of the Fountain United Methodist Church. Whether attending church meetings, baking cookies for an upcoming fundraiser or joining friends after church for brunch, Beezie found much joy and friendship in the church. Beezie’s greatest joy came from time spent with family; her grandchildren were the lights of her life.

She is survived by daughter Kimberly (Ken) of Blaine, Minn.; son Darrin (Sarah) of Fountain, Minn.; grandchildren Alyse Anderson (Trent), Riley Cambern and Ella Cambern; brother Loren Jech of Chatfield, brother-in-law Harlan (Dee) Schmidt of Wykoff and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings and several in-laws.

The funeral for Beezie will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, at Preston United Methodist Church, in Preston, Minn., with Pastor Deanna Woodward officiating.  Visitation will take place at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023, and one hour before the service at the church on Friday.  Burial will be at Fountain Lutheran Cemetery, Fountain, Minn.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a remembrance to Seasons Hospice, Fountain United Methodist Church or the family.

The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice for the compassionate and loving care they provided to our mom.

Riley Funeral Home of Chatfield is assisting the Cambern family with arrangements.  Online condolences are welcome at rileyfuneralhomes.com.
