LaVonne Joan Reps, 65, of Lewiston, died Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Hospitals, St. Marys Rochester Campus.
LaVonne was born May 12, 1957, in Winona to Laurence and Milda (Runge) Laumb. She grew up on Vinegar Hill and graduated from Rushford High School in 1976. Following high school LaVonne went on to cosmetology training at Winona Area Technical Institute. LaVonne and Larry Reps were married February 23, 1985, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Rushford. They farmed south of Utica and later near Fremont, while raising their six children.
LaVonne was loving, caring and spunky. She was known for her fun nature and lack of filter. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and was very supportive of all her children and grandchildren. She taught them the value of a good laugh by gifting them t-shirts with very memorable phrases on them.
LaVonne enjoyed sewing, gardening, shopping, music, and dancing. She loved her husband very, very much. Spending time with Larry on date nights, dancing at weddings, working together, raising their family, going to church, and enjoying one another’s company at home were some of the things they enjoyed together. Their love for one another is deep and helped carry her through the tough times. LaVonne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Charles and always kept Jesus close to her heart.
Survivors include her husband Larry, their children: Stacey (Kevin) Decker of Dover, Chance Reps of Lewiston, Tiffany (Nathan) Doehling of Dover, Benjamin (Samantha) Reps of Peterson, Samantha (CJ) Dvorak of Winona, and Trisha (Ty) Burgeson of Preston; grandchildren Anna, Taylor, Brock, Moxen, Myla, Evelette, Emmanuel, Lillian, Drake, Adeline, Millie, and Edmund; her siblings Helen (Ken) Jacobson, Dorothy (Joe) Himlie, Wesley (Sarah) Laumb, LaVerne (Becky) Laumb, and Herman (Melanie) Laumb; and many nieces and nephews.
