Larry Brand obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Larry Don Brand, 80, of Rushford, Minn., passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Larry Don Brand was born July 14, 1945, in Winona, Minn., to Ed and Mae (Bublitz) Brand. Growing up on the family farm in Hart instilled a deep appreciation for the outdoors.  On February 18, 1967, Larry was untied in marriage to Joyce (Magnuson), the love of his life, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  From this union four daughters were born. Larry spent his life tending to his farm, excluding the three years he spent enlisted in the United States Army. In his free time Larry enjoyed coon and deer hunting, playing baseball, and cruising around in his hot rods. Larry made sure to include his daughters in all of his hobbies; nothing was more important than time with family.

Larry is survived by his wife Joyce, daughters Dana (Douglas) Seekamp, Sonya Burnikel, Angela (Travis) Eide, and Kayla (Leigh) Volkman; grandchildren Tiffany (Jeremy) Ulmen, Kylie Jo (Tyler) Ladsten, Cody (Jaycee) Burnikel, Bo Eide, Luke Eide, Tucker (Amber) Eide, Landon, Lauren, Lexus Volkman, Dustin Seekamp (Joelle Roth), and Danielle (Alex) Langen; 12 great-grandchildren, and brother John Brand.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Vern, Roger and Charles; and sisters Grace, Vivian, Marcie, Donna and Julie.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hart. Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford, and continued at the church an hour prior to service on Monday.

Hoff Funeral Home – Rushford  is assisting the family. Please visit www.hofffuneral.com to leave an online condolence.
