Larry A. Storlie, age 67, of Mankato, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at his home.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 4-7 p.m. at Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato.
Larry was born on December 18, 1953, to Irving and Roby (Comstock) Storlie in Stewartville, Minn. He graduated from Harmony High School in 1972 and furthered his education at vocational schools in Austin and Hutchinson, majoring in motorcycle mechanics and body work. On June 18, 1977, he married the love of his life, Lyn Marie Mettler in Lime Springs, Iowa. After their marriage he began his career with farming, later he drove semi for Marten Transport and for the past 10 years he had very much enjoyed being employed by Palmer Bus Services, being a bus driver for special needs children. He enjoyed gardening, coin collecting, playing pool, and messing with metal salvaging. Larry also loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Lyn of Mankato, sons Travis of Duluth, Minn., Tracy (Amy) of Onalaska, Wis., Trevor (Bonnie) of Caledonia, Minn.; daughters Wendy of Spring Grove, Minn., and Jennifer (Chris) of Spring Grove, Minn.; grandchildren Blaine, Teressa (Russel), Alexis, Tobias, Payton, Jordian, Carston, Tylor, Kyleigh, Matthew, Izabel, Seth, Nythainlle, Sophia, Alexis and Delyla; great-grandchildren Kendall and Ayra, brother Roger, and several nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gordon and Darrell, grandson Jackson, father- and mother-in-law Leonard and Elaine Mettler, brother Wayne, brother-in-law Fred Baumberger, sister-in-law Ann Storlie, nephew Billy Storlie, brother Dean and sister-in-law Julie Mettler.
