LARP wrestling entered the second week of February sitting at 7-11.  The Screamin’ Eagles then had their busiest week of the year (two triangulars, one quadrangular).  They won all seven duals.  In Lanesboro, at FCLMC’s tri, LARP beat Stewartville 61-11 and the Wolves 57-20.  The S-Eagles had seven pins versus the Tigers; Spencer Nelson (106), Colten Jenkins (120), Quintin Betthauser (132), Titan Tekautz (145), Zach Plank (152), Brennan Corcoran (160), and Tyler Kryzer (182).  They took 195 (Jacob Meyer) and 285 (Andrew Wilkemeyer) by forfeit.  Jordan Zibrowski (126 > 12-3 major) and Tyler Kriedermacher (113 > 7-0 decision) worked for their wins.  The win over FCLMC avenged an ealier 54-18 loss (when LARP was not at full strength).  Kreidermacher (113), Zibrowski (126), Betthauser (132), Plank (145), Corcoran (160), Kryzer (182) and Brock Frisch (220) had pins.  LARP took 130 (Jenkins) and 285 (Wilkemeyer) by forfeit.  Meyer (195) posted their only decision win (5-1).  FCLMC got a pin from Oliver Hoeltzle (170), a 15-0 tech fall from Kane Larson (106), and a 4-0 decision from Carter Hovland (138).  The Wolves took 152 (Cole Sass) by forfeit.   Tim Tekautz and Darrin Hegland’s group then trekked to Adams for a quad.  The Screamin’ Eagles easily handled W-K 78-6, winning 10 forfeits, and La Crescent/Hokah 77-6, winning five forfeits.  Kreidermacher (113), Zibrowski (126), and Betthauser (132) added pins versus W-K.  Zibrowski (126), Betthauser (132), Tekautz (145), Corcoran (160), Camdyn Anderson (170), Meyer (195), and Wilkemeyer (285) posted pins versus LCH.  Kreidermacher (113) added a 17-2 tech fall.  The match with GMLOS was tight.  It was tied at 12 after 126 and 18 after 138.  The Bulldogs won 138 through 152, taking a 30-18 lead.  But five straight LARP wins including forfeits at 182 (Kryzer) and 195 (Meyer) put the S-Eagles in control.  They prevailed 46-36.  Nelson (106), Kreidermacher (113), Betthauser (132), Anderson (170), and Frisch (220) had pins for the S-Eagles.  Corcoran (160) added a 12-2 major decision.  Timmy Hogfeldt (120), Aiden Quintana (126), Cohen Wiste (145), Donavon Felten (152), and Christian Luthe (285) had pins for GMLOS.  Drake Payne (138) won by forfeit.  LARP finished the week at St. Charles’ tri.  They easily beat Triton 69-9, taking nine forfeits, and then the Saints 51-24.  Versus Triton, Anderson (170) won by fall, Ben Wenzel (132) by disqualification, and Betthauser (132) by 20-16 decision in probably the highest scoring win for any Journal 11 wrestler this year.  Versus St. Charles, LARP built a 24-9 lead only to lose 138 through 152, lead dwindling to 24-21.  But the S-Eagles took five of the final six weights to earn victory.  Nelson (106), Kreidermacher (113), Betthauser (132), and Anderson (170) won by fall.  Zibrowski (126), Meyer (195), Jaden Perez (220), and Frisch (285) won by forfeit.  Corcoran (160) battled to a 10-5 decision win.  For the week, Betthauser (six pins, wrestled out seven wins), Kreidermacher (four pins, wrestled out six wins), Corcoran (three pins), and Meyer went 7-0.  Nelson, Zibrowski (three falls), Kryzer, and Frisch went 6-1.  LARP (6-3, 14-11) is 1AA’s 5-seed and will face 12-seed LC/H (2-11), winner to face 4-seed Lake City (17-7).
