Head Coach: Tim Opat (new for Krissy Overland).

Where We Left Off in 2023: The Burros guys (9-1, 9-1) and girls (9-0, 9-1) were each SEC regular season and Meet champions. The boys won the regular season title by SEC Meet tiebreaker. Hayden Lawstuen and Chloe Schnebly were the SEC Meet individual champs. Jack Brogle and Kaden Stettler tied for third. Jentrey Schreiber took third and Ariana Huntington fifth. The Burros boys were then 1A runner-up to FC. Lawstuen took third and Brogle fifth. Each made state. The Burro girls took third at sections. Schnebly took eighth place, qualifying for state. Lawstuen then tied for 32nd, Brogle tied for 49th, and Schnebly tied for 64th in Becker. Schnebly and Lawstuen graduated.

Outlook: Lanesboro had a great season last year, winning the SEC Meet, each team finishing top three at sections, with three individual state qualifiers. But Lawstuen and Schnebly graduated, as did fellow All-SEC pick Huntington. The Burro guys do return five of six golfers. Jack Brogle, a state qualifier, heads the cast. He tied for third (SEC Meet), took fifth (1A Meet), and repeated as All-SEC as just an 8th grader. Fellow All-SEC picks Kaden Stettler (senior) and Dayton Haugen (junior) also are back. Stettler tied for third (SEC) and took 13th (1A). Haugen took eighth (SEC) and tied for 17th (1A). Juniors Kyle Ruen and Holdyn Willford are the other returnees. Jack Lawston (sophomore) joins the team coming over from R-P. The boys notably have six guys who made Day 2 of sections. On the girls side, Jentrey Schreiber (freshman) is a returning All-SEC pick. She took third (SEC) and 19th (1A). Taylor Hanson (junior) and Rachel Rein (freshman) also return. Each made Day 2 of sections last year.
