Lanesboro Arts is thrilled to uplift the creativity of local youth in its annual Juried High School Art Show from January 13 through January 28.
Featuring artwork from 9th through 12th grade students at Chatfield, Fillmore Central, Lanesboro, and Rushford-Peterson schools, the Juried High School Art show demonstrates the vibrancy of local student talent. There will be photographs, paintings, stained glass, digital art, mixed media works and more!
“Every year, the High School Art Show provides space for young artists to grow in confidence and share their work with their community,” said Lanesboro Arts Executive Director Kara Maloney. “We are so thrilled to see the sheer variety of mediums and perspectives on display. This show is always a staff favorite.”
There will be an opening reception to celebrate the student’s artistic achievements on January 13 from 5–7 p.m. at the Lanesboro Arts Exhibition Gallery. Visitors will enjoy music, refreshments, and of course, the student artwork on display.
The Juried High School show has played an important role in developing the confidence and experience of young artists, who have the unique opportunity to see their creative efforts presented in a public, professional gallery setting. Always free and open to the public, the Lanesboro Arts gallery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The exhibit is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Handicapped accessible and free to the public, the exhibition gallery is located at 103 Parkway Ave N. in Lanesboro, Minn. The organization provides year-round arts programming and serves as a regional catalyst for artistic excellence and educational development, by providing diverse art experiences for people of all ages.
