Kristine “Kris” Horsman

October 28, 2024 by Fillmore County Journal

Kristine Horsman obituary, Fillmore county Journal

In loving memory of Kristine “Kris” Horsman, 74, of Chatfield, Minn., who peacefully passed away on October 25, 2024. She was born to Glen and Marion Stevens on September 10, 1950, in Rochester, Minn.

Kristine’s journey was one of warmth and affection. As a young girl, she flourished as a Girl Scout, setting a foundation of generosity and community spirit that would define her life. She graduated with the class of 1968 from John Marshall High School in Rochester, Minnesota.

On April 26, 1969, Kristine married the love of her life, Dale Horsman, and shortly thereafter settled into the small town of Chatfield, Minn.  Kris and Dale started a family raising their son, Michael, who was the light of their life. She devoted 44 years of her life to the Root River State Bank in Chatfield, where her integrity and work ethic shone brightly.

Kristine’s interests varied, from the thrill of snowmobiling in her youth to her love for majestic horses and Ford Mustangs. She found joy in the company of her grandchildren, sharing cherished moments with them. Nature called to her soul, whether she was casting a line while fishing, burying her nose in a good book, or tending to her vibrant flower garden.

Her quiet demeanor, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family and friends were the pillars of her being. In her quiet moments, Kristine enjoyed playing games on her iPad, finding joy in the little things in life.

Kris is survived by her husband Dale, son Michael (Jess) Horsman, adored grandchildren Braelee, Corbin and Hailee; and her sister, Stephanie Wilson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Marion.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Hoff Funeral Home – Chatfield from 12-1:30 p.m. Interment will take place following the visitation at Washington Cemetery.

Hoff Funeral Home – Chatfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
