March 10, 2025 by Fillmore County Journal

Kim Schraeder obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Kimberly Ann Schraeder, age 65, of Ostrander, Minn., died on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in her home in Ostrander, Minn.

Kimberly was born on January 18, 1960, in Rochester, Minn., to Kenneth and Carole (Capelle) Hodson. She attended LeRoy-Ostrander High School and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander where she taught Sunday School, Bible School in the summer, and was in the church choir. After high school she moved to Rochester, Minn., for two years. She married John Schraeder on August 23, 1980, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander. They made their home and raised their two children in Ostrander.

For four years, from 1980-1984, Kimberly worked as a CNA at the nursing home in Ostrander, and then again for another 17 ½ years, from March of 2000 to December 2, 2018.  She loved animals, especially feeding and watching the birds and squirrels.  During her free time, Kimberly enjoyed reading, camping, traveling and planting flowers.  Her other hobbies included jigsaw puzzles, puzzle books, crocheting and listening to today’s country music.  But most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren fiercely.

Kim is survived by her husband John of Ostrander, Minn.; son Eric Schraeder (Tiffany Lewison) of LeRoy, Minn.; daughter Brittany Mihm (Jeremy) of LeRoy, Minn.; grandson Dylan Schraeder of LeRoy, Minn.; two granddaughters, Shelby Mihm and Kinzey Mihm, both of LeRoy, Minn.; sister Sue Larson (Rex) of Limes Springs, Iowa; brother Kevin Hodson (Mary) of Hutchison, Minn.; sister-in-law Jane Schraeder of Omaha, Nebr.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law and grandparents.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 10 from 4-7 p.m. at  Trinity Lutheran Church, 204 South Street, Ostrander. Funeral service will take place Tuesday, March 11 at 10 a.m., also at Trinity Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can go to Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander or the Ostrander Cemetery.
