Kathleen Storlie obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Kathleen Virginia Storlie, 86, of Mabel, passed away January 20, 2024, at Green Lea Manor Senior Living in Mabel, Minn.

She was born on June 14, 1937, to Julius and Farrell (Palen) Skifton.

She was a 1955 Caledonia High School graduate. On May 11, 1957, she married Melbourne Storlie at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia, Minn. The couple farmed in rural Mabel, Minn., until Melbourne passed away on November 10, 2003.

Kathy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove and its women’s groups, and the Mabel Quilter’s Club. She enjoyed dancing, flowers and watching birds.

Survivors include her daughters Vicky (Tom) Fitzpatrick, Julie (Brian) Johnson and Melanie Kath; her grandchildren: Ashley (Seth) Gengler, Kirby Fitzpatrick (Brandon Vinson), Leigha (Chad) Stackhouse, Jacob (Bre) Johnson, Danielle Kath (Evan Moen), Noah Kath and Caleb Kath; great-grandchildren: Zeke Gengler, Max Gengler, Reed Gengler, Audrey Stackhouse, Logan Stackhouse, Brady Johnson, Emerson Johnson and Hadley Johnson; her brothers Ronald (Sylvia) Skifton, Gerald (Cheryl) Skifton and Darrel (Susy) Skifton; and her sisters Eleanor Engen, Norma (Ray) Gehrke, Sonia (David) McCabe, Pam Runningen, June (Ron) Hawley, Cindy (Michael) Schuldt, Annette (Darwin) Durham and Rita (Joe) Anderson, Janie Sanden; sister-in-law Janice Tjepkes, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Melbourne and her parents Julius and Farrell, she was preceded in death by Pat and Lois O’Heron, Stanley Engen, Gary Sanden, Paul Runningen, Charles Storlie, Beverly Thompson, and Theresa and Dale Erickson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, officated by Pastor Lane Zaffke. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove is assisting the family with arrangements.
