Karyn Jean Olson, 76, of Houston, passed away September 29, 2024.

Karyn J. Olson (Williams) was born August 27, 1948, to Kenneth and Avis (Sweet) Williams in La Crosse, Wis. She was raised in Houston, Minn., and graduated from Houston High School.

Karyn married her high school sweetheart, Leonard Warren Olson on June 26, 1987. They united their mixed families of children: Jan (Kurtz) Anderson of Rossville, Ga., Robin (Curt) Paulson of Rushford, Minn., Mike (Kim Wentz) Kurtz of Caledonia, Minn., Michelle Bauman (Olson) of Owatonna, Minn., and Terri Peterson (deceased), previously of Houston, Minn.; grandchildren Cheyenne (Ashley) Jacobson, Shane Jacobson, Dawn (Eric) Decker, Curtis Jr. (Emily) Paulson, Desiree (Kyle Krumrie) Kurtz, Shauna (Austin Woodard) Kurtz, Kenneth Kurtz, and T.J. Littlefield; and great-grandchildren Walker, Summer, Autumn, Emma, Jayne, Charles, Liam, Zeke, Phoebe, Aubry, Kylee, Cooper, Azaleah and Juniper.

In addition to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Karyn is survived by sisters Barbara (Bob) Borowiak and Sherry (Dennis) Girtler, and many nieces and nephews.

Karyn was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Terri Peterson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 204 S. Chase St., Houston, Minn. Pastor Dana Jackson will officiate. Following the service there will be a luncheon and a time of fellowship at the church. Burial will be at a later date. A visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2024, at Fredrickson Funeral Home, Caledonia Chapel, 518 W. Main St., Caledonia, Minn. A visitation will also take place from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to cancer foundations.
