Judy F. Nagel, age 82, of Preston, Minn., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Gundersen Harmony Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2026, at Greenleafton Reformed Church, with Pastor Todd Bush officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Greenleafton Cemetery. Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Judy Faye McIntosh was born October 10, 1943, the daughter of Chester and Grace (Sphar) McIntosh. She was baptized and confirmed at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church and attended school in Decorah. On August 18, 1962, Judy married Jerry Nagel at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church. They had 63 wonderful years of marriage together. The couple had three sons: James, John and Jeff.
Judy was a secretary at the Preston Law Office for four years, Greenway Coop in Rochester 14 years, and Granger Creamery for four years. Throughout those years working full-time jobs, Judy helped Jerry on the farm, cooked meals, feeding calves, driving tractors, and all the bookwork. She loved the life that she had built with Jerry.
Judy is survived by her husband Jerry, three sons: James (Cheryl), John, and Jeff (LeaEtta); eight grandchildren: David (Jamie) Nagel, Deneen (Estevao) Nagel, Michelle (Al) Nagel, Justin (Ashley) Nagel, Katie Nagel, Nick (Alexis) Nagel, Bailey (Sierra) Nagel, Kensey Nagel; 13 great grandchildren with one due in April, brother Howard McIntosh, three sisters-in-law: Judy McIntosh, Joyce Nagel, and Carol (John) Overland; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Grace McIntosh, father and mother-in-law Norris and Doris Nagel, brother Duane McIntosh, sister-in-law Judith McIntosh and Mary Lou Nagel, brother-in-law Don Nagel and infant brother-in-law Arthur Nagel, and nephew Norman McIntosh.
Judy’s family deeply appreciated the care given to her by Gundersen Harmony Care Center and St. Croix Hospice.
