Judith A. Dempewolf, age 79, of Harmony, Minn., passed away June 18, 2021, at the Gundersen Harmony Care Center.
A memorial service will be held June 25, 2021, at the United Methodist Church in Lime Springs, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the memorial service following at 11 a.m. The Rev. Paula Hemann will officiate. Lunch will be served at the Lime Springs Community Center after the memorial service.
Judith was born on September 4, 1941, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to Donald W. and Julia Cornwell. She lived in Havelock, Iowa, and attended school there until 1955 when she moved with her family to Adams, Minn. She graduated from high school in 1960. On September 9, 1961, she was united in marriage to Morris L. Dempewolf at the United Methodist Church, Dexter, Minn. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, taking walks and anything with her family and friends.
Judith is survived by three daughters: Colleen Dempewolf of Erie, Colo., Renee (Jim) Reicks of Harmony, Minn., and Tonya (Doyle) Benson of Stewart, Minn., one son, Jason (Amanda) Dempewolf of Harmony, Minn.; 11 grandchildren: Nicole (Mike) Bergeland of LaFayette, Colo., David (Priya) Chuzles of Roseville, Minn., Sarah (Braden) Hahn of Preston, Minn., Andrew Reicks of Harmony, Minn., Phillip, Josiah, Julia and Lydia Benson of Stewart, Minn., and Coltan, Maggie and Lilianna Dempewolf of Harmony, Minn.; and three great-grandchildren: Ruby and Brooks Bergeland of LaFayette, Colo., and Porter Hahn of Preston, Minn.; a sister, Therma Fitzgerald of Lime Springs, Iowa, three brothers: Harvey Cornwell of Havelock, Iowa, Jearl Cornwell of Grand Meadow, Minn., and Dalton (Hoe Cha) Cornwell of Bentonville, Ark.
Judith was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one sister.
Judith donated her body to the Mayo Clinic Department of Anatomy. A private burial will be held at a later date.
