John Steien obituary, Fillmore County Journal

John M. P. Steien, 82, of Florence, Ariz., died Friday, April 30, 2021.

John was born in Hallock, Minn., on November 6, 1938, to Peder and Mabel (Johnson) Steien. He graduated from Lake Bronson High School in Lake Bronson, Minn., in 1956. He served in the United States Army, Heavy Weapons Division, from 1961-1963. John owned and operated Steien’s Standard and 37th St. Tire & Auto in Rochester, Minn., and Preston NAPA in Preston, Minn.

He is survived by his wife Micky Steien of Florence, Ariz.; his son Mike (Sylvia) Steien of Chatfield, Minn.; his daughter Marly (Jeff) Perschbacher of Sterling, Alaska; two grandsons Joey Steien of Fort Lewis, Wash., and Nick Steien of Chatfield, Minn.; sister, Carolyn (Mel) Werth of Baxter, Minn.; brother Larry (Sharon) Steien of Karlstad, Minn.; and sister Pam Steien of Tucson, Ariz.

A celebration of life was held at Pinal County Cowboy Church in Casa Grande, Ariz., and Elks Lodge #2350 in Coolidge, Ariz. An interment will be held at Preston Veterans Cemetary in Preston, Minn., at a later date.
