Joanne Lovejoy obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Joanne D. Lovejoy, 94, of Chatfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield.

Joanne Dorothy Herrick was born June 12, 1929, in Rochester, to Courtney and Dorothy (Cunningham) Herrick.  Joanne graduated from Chatfield High School in 1947. She worked at Mayo Clinic until her marriage to Glenn Lovejoy on April 12, 1950, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.   She worked for Jim Perkins Law Office, Chatfield High School and Gordon Strange Insurance Company in Chatfield until her retirement in 1990.  Following her husband’s death in 1994, she volunteered for Mayo Clinic for 20 years.

Joanne enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, walking, playing cards and games with family and friends, attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sports activities.   

Joanne is survived by her daughter Pat (Charles) Karver, grandchildren Charles (Lynda) Karver, Christopher (Amanda) Karver, and Courtney Lovejoy and Katie Lovejoy; great-grandchildren David (Louise, fiance), Logan, A.J., Tate and Olivia Karver; and great-great-grandchildren Gavin and Jamie Karver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn in 1994 and son Tom in 1989.

Funeral service for Joanne will be 11 am. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Chatfield, with Pastor Tammy Rider officiating.  Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.  Burial will be at Chatfield Cemetery following the service.
