Jerry A. Kyseth, 81, of rural Spring Grove, Minn., passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Jerry was born August 15, 1943, in Preston, Minn., to Vernon and Milly (Ovestrud) Kyseth. He grew up in Canton, graduating from Canton High School in 1961. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and worked with ordinance. After his discharge in 1965, he worked for over 40 years at Honeywell in Minneapolis. In 1967 he was united in marriage to Jennie Slafter at the Big Springs Lutheran Church in Harmony. In 2003 they moved to rural Spring Grove where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors taking care of their property, woodworking and getting into trouble with his good friend Leonard. Jerry was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Black Hammer and Teamsters Local 1145.
Jerry is survived by his wife Jennie, two sons, Scott (Julie) of Columbia Heights, Minn., and Todd (Jennifer) of Poquoson, Va.; four grandchildren: Caitlin, Parker, Ivie and Maddie; several cousins, and his good friend Leonard Splittstoesser.
He was preceded in death by his parents,Vernon and Milly.
A Celebration of Life will be from noon to 4 p.m. on November 17 at the Mabel Community Center, with a service at noon. Inurnment will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minn., at 11 a.m. on November 18. The Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is assisting with arrangements.
