Fillmore County Journal - Jeanne Herlihy Obituary

Jeanne B. Herlihy, 70, of Rushford, Minn., died on Monday, November 21, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.

Jeanne was born on November 21, 1946, in La Crosse, Wis., to Byron and Mildred (Anderson) Buross. She was raised on the family farm in Bratsberg, south of Rushford. She graduated from Rushford High School in 1964, St. Olaf College in Northfield in 1968, and from Mass General Institute in Boston with a Master’s Degree in nursing. She was united in marriage on September 30, 1978 with John Herlihy in Boston, Mass. Jeanne worked her career as a cardiovascular nurse in Boston until her retirement in 2013. She and John moved to Rushford that same year. Jeanne was a very accomplished seamstress.

She is suvived by her husband, John “Jack” Herlihy; and by her mother, Mildred “Mim” Buross of Rushford.

She was preceded in death by her father.

There will be a funeral service for Jeanne at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford. Following the service, Jeanne will be cremated with burial of her cremated body in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family prefers memorials directed to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home or to the Rushford Historical Society.
