Jane M. Christensen, age 74, of Rochester, Minn., formerly of Preston, Minn., died on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Arbor Terrace in Rochester, Minn.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 869 7th Ave SE, Rochester, Minn. 55904, with Pastor Adam Koglin officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Preston, Minn., and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church Friday. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Preston, Minn. Memorials are preferred to Stephen Ministry at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester. Jane Muriel Schultz was born October 1, 1948, daughter of Arthur R. and Muriel O. (Stevens) Schultz in Lanesboro, Minn. She was baptized October 31, 1948, and confirmed June of 1963. After graduating high school, Jane attended college for two years. On August 10, 1968, Jane married Philip Eickhoff at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston, Minn. To this union two children were born, Michael and Sheri. The couple later divorced. On September 21, 1996, Jane married Bruce Christensen at Christ Lutheran Church in Byron, Minn. For many years, Jane owned and operated a craft store called The Country Rainbow in Fountain, Minn. After The Country Rainbow closed, Jane worked in Chatfield as a secretary for a few businesses. Her last job before retiring was working as a front desk clerk signing people in for appointments at Mayo Clinic. Jane was active in the Stephens Ministry at Redeemer Lutheran in Rochester. She also taught needlework classes in Fountain and Community Ed in Rochester as well as several years of Beginning Experience.
Jane is survived by her daughter Sheri Schmidt of St. Paul, Minn., and her three children; son Michael (Brenda) Eickhoff of Wykoff, Minn.; three step grandchildren: Tiana Plagman, Kirah Plagman, and Zackary Lloyd; and one great-grandchild, Meelo Strahl; brothers and sisters Donald Schultz of Minneapolis, Minn., Jerry (Jan) Schultz of Preston, Minn., Diane Kinneberg of Rochester, Minn., Mary (Lloyd) Flint of Dodge Center, Minn., and Lyle (Sheryl) Schultz of Fountain, Minn.; and sister-in-law Kristi Schultz of Stoughton, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Muriel, husband Bruce Christensen, brother Steven Schultz, and brother-in-law Earl Kinneberg.
