James Valentine Wise II passed away on August 8, 2026.
James was born on April 2, 1984, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to James and Nadine Wise.
He attended elementary through high school in Spring Grove, Minnesota. He was active in 4-H with his friends and neighbors in Black Hammer, Minnesota. After graduating high school in 2002, he worked with his father for Wise Masonry and Construction, a trade that he excelled at.
He was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed working on his cars, trucks and tractors. He was an avid gardener and loved to talk about the new thing he was going to grow in the upcoming season. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved to fish, hunt, and trap. He wildcrafted, gathered mushrooms, cut firewood, and kept honeybees. He also enjoyed sharing his love of these things with his friends and family.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who supported and loved James over the years and to those who have done the same for us after his passing. Please love and support those close to you and find comfort with your memories of him.
A celebration of life will be held 3-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, at the Fest Building in Spring Grove, Minnesota.
