James A. Groth, age 89, of Spring Valley, Minn., passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Spring Valley Living.
Born to Robert and Agnes (Fuhrmeister) Groth in 1936, James “Jim” was a lifelong resident of Spring Valley. After twoyears in the Army, Jim met and married Lois Skosheim. Together they made a home and raised four boys.
Primarily working for the school system and Kruegel Gas, Jim was always working, slowing down only recently for health reasons. He spent the last two years at Spring Valley Living Center.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother Loren, and his wife Lois.
He is survived by his sister Elsie Fox, sons Jay (Deb), Layne (Jeanette), Daren and Damon.
The family would also like to thank Carol Kohn, who in Jim’s later years was a special friend and companion.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
