The National Trout Center will be hosting two informational meetings about a citizen science stream monitoring opportunity. This is a joint venture between the National Trout Center (in Preston, Minn.) and Winona State University in direct response to a 2015 fish kill that might have ended differently if better stream monitoring practices were in place.
Learn about the project and what volunteer opportunities are available for you to help make a difference in our water quality. The lead scientists for this project will be available to answer questions. Refreshments will be provided. Sign up for stream monitoring, Save Our Streams, training from the Izaak Walton League (to be held at the National Trout Center) on Saturday, October 26 to become a certified stream monitor (Save Our Streams training is not a requirement for participation but is strongly encouraged). Please attend one of these meetings to learn how you can get involved!
•Wednesday, September 25, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the National Trout Center located at 120 St. Anthony St. S., Preston, Minn.
•Sunday, September 29, 2-3 p.m. with the location TBD
