Hunter T. Rollie, 19, passed away peacefully on his own time in the presence of his loving and caring parents on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-St. Marys Campus in Rochester, Minn. He fought a hard battle and was a truly strong man.
Hunter was born on March 23, 2001, in Rochester, the son of Curtis B. and Barbara J. (Stokes) Rollie. Hunter resided with his parents and big brother Jarod, in Stewartville, Minn., at the time of his death. Hunter’s life was spent doing all of the things he loved with his family such as going fast on the side by side, riding in the snowmobile pod up north on family vacations, horseback riding, and he especially enjoyed the trip to Walt Disney World that was granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He also loved his service dog Gilly, action movies, and being outside. He had an infectious smile that would light up a room. Hunter very much enjoyed the days he was able to go to school. He attended Stewartville Public Schools from K-present and was currently a senior who would have been participating in graduation this spring.
Hunter is in the Lord’s loving arms, where there is tranquility and peace. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Hunter is survived by his parents Curtis and Barbara Rollie of Stewartville, brother Jarod Rollie of Stewartville, his loyal companion and service dog Gilly II, grandparents Gerald and Betty Stokes of Rochester, Ruth M. Volkart Rollie of Spring Valley, step-grandmother Ruth Ann Rollie of Kellogg, Minn., aunts and uncles Richard (Pam) Stokes of Rochester, Tammy Nelson of Rochester, Debbie (Steve) Schley of Claremont, Minn., Wayne (Karen) Volkart of Stewartville, Lisa (Brian) Pierce of Hector, Minn., Verlynne (Steve) Copeman of Spring Valley, Susan (Dan) Kimball of Spring Valley, and 24 cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa Donovan W. Rollie and cousin Beau Robert Schley.
